Donkey Kong Bananza

A new DK adventure starring DK and Pauline, only on Switch 2. Official store and regional sites list the game with a July 17, 2025 date. 

Kirby Air Riders

Nintendo has product pages and a dedicated “Direct” for this racer, dated November 20, 2025 in Europe.

Drag x Drive

Nintendo’s 3-on-3 “drive and shoot” sport, available now, with Joy-Con 2 mouse-style control tips in news posts and regional listings. Release date August 14, 2025. 

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

A new musou set in the Imprisoning War, “this winter,” listed on Nintendo’s regional stores.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Switch 2 Edition

Nintendo’s regional pages confirm a Switch 2 Edition with higher resolution, higher frame rates, HDR, and optional mouse controls when docked. Base game is slated for 2025.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Switch 2 Edition

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Switch 2 Edition

Listed by Nintendo with improved performance and HDR, plus support for a Zelda notes service via the app. 

Super Mario Party Jamboree – Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV

Appears in Nintendo’s Switch 2 games and hardware pages as an upgraded release with a TV companion feature.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake

Square Enix press and Nintendo’s store confirm a Switch 2 version on October 30, 2025. 

Borderlands 4

2K and Nintendo list Switch 2 for October 3, 2025, with editions and specs on regional pages. 

Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO

Bandai Namco and Nintendo confirm Switch and Switch 2 versions for November 14, 2025. 

Persona 3 Reload

Atlus lists a Switch 2 release on October 23, 2025, and Nintendo has a product stub live. 

Octopath Traveler 0

Nintendo’s store lists a native Switch 2 version and a Digital Deluxe Edition. Square Enix’s store details bundles. 

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

Square Enix and Nintendo pages confirm a Switch 2 release window in winter, with Creator’s Voice support content on Nintendo’s site.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Nintendo’s store shows availability on Switch 2 with enhanced performance.

How to choose versions and save money

If a game offers an Upgrade Pack:
Buy once on Switch, then apply the Upgrade Pack on Switch 2. Check each product page for pricing and contents. 

If a game has both Switch and Switch 2 builds but no upgrade:
Pick the platform you will play most. Nintendo notes many Switch games run on Switch 2, yet performance will match the Switch version unless upgraded.

If a game is Switch 2 Edition only:
It will not run on a Switch system. Metroid Prime 4’s Switch 2 Edition is playable only on Switch 2, though Nintendo describes an upgrade path from the Switch version. 

Quick checklist

• Check your region’s Nintendo store page for the final date. 
• Look for Upgrade Pack support before buying a second copy. 
• If you play docked, confirm 4K, HDR, and 120 fps support. 
• For bundles, confirm what is pre-installed and storage needs.
